I’ve thought about it a lot over the last months and concluded WP Core ought not have telemetry. It’s network tracking in evening-wear.

Depends on what you track and how you track it. In lieu of telemetry, how do we gather info about real-world use around the world?

I’m strongly in favour of opt-in, anonymised telemetry. We need data to make informed decisions.

User testing. It avoids an influx of data that becomes difficult to analyse. Targeted data is better than collecting in the hope it’s useful
