Sweet of @Mike_Faist to stop breaking @jltsayswhat‘s heart eight times a week as his gift for Mothers’ Day.

In work’s slack, @tareiking asked for musical soundtrack recommendations. Half an essay later, I think he’s learnt his lesson.
-
This data visualization by @sxywu of every line, every character interaction, every repeated phrase and everything else in Hamilton is simply amazing. (I know I am late to the party).
-
@jensimmons has tip after tip after tip while discussing CSS layout on the Big Web Show. It’s very much worth a listen (and follow if you’re not already).
-
I never want to hear accessibility is too hard again, games are blind accessible. Games!
-
Something I love about this original Hamilton performance is seeing LMM looking around after the first verse, realise the room is into it and visibly relax. It’s a really sweet, human moment.
This was a vague post about the White House, nine years and a day ago. Spoiler: I didn’t end up doing a Heights tune. The rest is literally history. pic.twitter.com/sSJW9ljMev

Listening to a Twenty Thousand Hertz episode on noise pollution. If you’re a remote worker, it turns out it’s worth sending the boss noise canceling headphones before jumping on Zoom to ask for a pay rise.
-
I’ve been thinking a lot about Found/Tonight and how perfect The Story of Tonight and You Will Be Found are for @AMarch4OurLives. My US friends and the students leading it should be proud of their influence. I wish they didn’t need to be.

This month’s Hamildrop is also a Hansendrop and how am I meant to sleep now?! (Europe & America, just you wait) https://youtu.be/4s9Td2ZAyT8

Right, Joe, I’ve always been right.
So you’re telling me you’ve always been a CSS pedant?

@AirbnbHelp asks: after finding out bedroom blinds are not required & neither is listing their presence or absence, would I recommend their service?
Honestly, I’d have to say I’d recommend against it.

There’s a lot of discussion about politics in conference talks following this post. The Stonewall Inn photo in my latest slide deck wasn’t an accident, it was a reaction to Australia’s hateful same-sex marriage survey.

Buffer’s state of remote work. https://open.buffer.com/state-remote-work-2018/
My status:
- environment: office (paid by @humanmadeltd)
- vacation: usually 32 days with public/bank holidays (min 28 is policy)
- nomad: <5%
- hours: 9-10hr M-Th, bugger off early Fri
- hope to be remote til retirement

@angelsbway is excellent; the cast, the staging, everything. It’s quite a disconnect as friends back home celebrate Mardi Gras to be watching a play set when it was a protest for health care.

Video from my talk at LoopConf last week is up. I’ve added it alongside my slides and a link to the Human Made white paper at https://pwcc.cc/go/loop2018

Make no mistake, this isn’t the last time. When @DearEvanHansen makes it to Australia in 2020 or later, I’m taking the extended family along.
-
Nov 19 @BenSPLATT
Nov 22 @HeyMichaelLeeB
Nov 24 @NoahegalvinTonight it’s @taytrensch leading @DearEvanHansen’s remaining original cast. I’m more than a little excited. Thanks for the great theatre folks on stage and off.

Currently debating @Airbnb as to whether it’s reasonable to expect blinds in a bedroom. I’m arguing it is, for sleeping, they’re refusing to discuss further.

“I won’t go nuts on show tickets for this trip”
LOG, DAY 1: refreshing two sites an hour before @HamiltonMusical’s matinee performance to see how far the resale prices come down.
