Is there a sweep on when President Trump will just crack completely and challenge Obama to a duel?
-
I’m getting impatient waiting for CSS container queries. It seems @beep is too & he knows a thing or two about RWD. https://ethanmarcotte.com/wrote/on-container-queries/

Just found out why the comedy internet was losing its shit at the Herald-Sun today.

I have a talk to write so of course I’m tempted to procrastinate by doing tax returns.
-
What gets rolled back post Trump (be that 4 or 8 years) will be very important. Anti-women and -LGBTI laws will likely stay.
-
Code reviewing has become the favourite part of my job and having my code reviewed the favourite part of my dev process. Sociopath?
-
After a week in Thailand I’m a convert to the bathroom hose, it’s much cleaner. I work on the basis of when in Rome, do as the Romans.

Applied for a US conference a month ago, relieved to have missed out less than a month into the Trump presidency. It saves cancelling.
-
Wait staff smilingly wryly as I order second breakfast. Related: I’ve been described as a human bin recently.

Have found I’m doing more these days to control when I catch up on the news. There’s too much bad shit happening to have a constant stream.
-
I usually remember to remove even the commented out var_dumps before committing. I’m a fucking professional.
-
You think you know someone and then discover they use a light theme for their text editor.

All it takes to bring down a server is an errant equals sign and time going backward. https://blog.cloudflare.com/how-and-why-the-leap-second-affected-cloudflare-dns/

Getting hungry but need to wait until the album I’m listening to finishes. Philip’s dead but Burr’s yet to lose his bid for President.

I see the lies of omission from some outlets implying this is new. That’s just fucked up & it’s on you if Centrelink stop making referrals.
-
Centrelink have shat the bed but referring people threatening self harm to life line is a good thing & to be encouraged.
-
Call me old fashioned but I think condemning Centrelink for referring people to suicide prevention services is fucked up.
-
There is a group attempting to archive the internet archive & put it online.
I see a problem.

The most practical outcome of this was some final debugging (I hope) of the Twenty Seventeen header. David has put in a tonne of work on this theme, he deserves be proud of it.
I’m writing this up in the flight lounge waiting to board the first leg of my flight home. The last few days have been ver busy catching up with people, meeting new people and general socialising.
I’m both sad to be leaving but looking forward to getting back home.
